Avi, We Saw Your Flyer
"Do you have a cool job and a big heart? Let me shadow you. I'm 16 pls."
Avi Lichtenstein taped that to lightpoles across New York City. He's a high school junior. Every night he would lay awake asking what he was going to do with his life, and one day he decided to ask the whole city instead. He spent $500 of his own savings, hired two guys off Craigslist, and put up more than 300 flyers. Then he waited.
The first answer came the next day. A dog groomer. Then a radio host. A ramen shop owner. An airline captain and a tattoo artist are next. One shadow day turned into a job offer. He writes down every visit, and every lesson, in a spreadsheet.
He told The Wall Street Journal he still doesn't know what he wants to do with his life.
